Pearl Court Pin

I was looking at Sigma Kappa jewelry and I came across the Sigma Kappa Pearl Court Pin. My question is what exactly is this pin used for? Does it have any special meaning?

If I remember correctly from Founder's Day it's for women who have been alum for at least 5 years and have been exceptionally dedicated to Sigma.
