Women's Colleges?
I attended a women's college for two years. I was wondering what other women's colleges have Greek Life and what NPC groups are at these schools? What was life like on those campuses?
I attended Brenau University- The Women's College in Gainesville, GA. The following NPC groups are there: Alpha Gamma Delta Alpha Chi Omega Phi Mu Alpha Delta Pi Chi Omega Delta Delta Delta Zeta Tau Alpha Also, Delta Zeta and Alpha Xi Delta were there years before I started school there. It was a small college (500 undergrads) with each chapter only having about 35 or so members. It was a small college with a fairly large Panhellenic System. |
I don't go to school there, but there is Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas.
NPC groupus there are: Alpha Gamma Delta Alpha Omicron Pi Sigma Sigma Sigma |
The two women's colleges that I applied to, Cedar Crest in Allentown, Penn and Wells in Aurora, NY (near Ithaca) did not have any sororities because they were so small and felt they would not survive on the campus. Wells was a college of only 400 with a lot of fun tradtions (odds vs evens competitions, tea in the afternoon, white dresses on graduation day, etc) so I think they were more of a 'sorority' or at least big family without having to bring any greek formal organization to the campus.

My neighbor went to Smith. There were no sororities at least not when she was a student. She said that there were many other ways for the women to form bonds of sisterhood such as in the dorms and teas. Barnard at Columbia University has sororities.

Kappa Delta and Sigma Sigma Sigma are the two NPC sororities at Stephens College
