Policy or Clause Question
First of all, i'm a Phi Sig and inquiring for a friend.
Do you guys have a policy, bylaw, etc. that states something along the lines of multiculturalism or diversity? The reason I'm asking is because I have a friend who is interested in joining a sorority at St Louis University(where Sigma K has a chapter) but she doesn't think that she can get in because of color differences. I just need something just to show her she's wrong. And that Panhellic sororities are open to all races. . .not just. . .well, you know. Thanks. |
We do indeed welcome all women, regardless of background. That's not to say that there may not be some members that are closeminded, but as an organization, we accept everyone. My chapter has several african american, latin american and asian american members.
I wish her good luck in recruitment! |
race is not an issue with sigma kappa. the st. louis u chapter is no exception. tell her to seriously consider sigma k. we always love to get a more diverse crowd here. :)

the diversity of my chapter is part of what i love about it....we take pride in the fact that we have all different types of girls...its the best!
I hope you friend takes a look at the sigma kappa at her school! :) <3 kt |
Hi White Chocolate
Now I know the girl who posted this. We attend the same university why she didn't ask me is beyond me because we are friends. As many of you all know that I am an African American and proud member of Sigma Kappa.
Now WC you know that my chapter is very diverse, the most diverse group on campus. Heck my pledge class of 10 (yes we are a small greek commuinty) there were 5 of us that were minorities. My chapter had to do something right to get all the minorities that went thorugh rush. If she has any probelms tell her to give me call or to email me, you know my email address. Brittany |
