Question
how far from campus would you live?
|
within walking distance, because it makes it hard to have a party, if people have to get in cars to get there, plus you dont want them all driving home drunk. But if you don't care about parties then within 10 minutes distance would be cool too :)

I lived about 15 min from campus (mostly because the campus is in a super rough neighborhood...drivebys happen all the time) My apartment was known as the party place. Every friday, it was known there was a party at my place. Everyone was stoked to be getting off campus for at least a couple of hours.

I live like a half an hour. However I attend a majority commuter school, so it's the norm. I know some people who lives up to two hours from campus.

20 min's for me.
This is basically a commuter school also. I think the only reason ppl even live here is to get away from the parents really. I mean...there's nothing here for parents to fear and for the student it just gets them away. |
I've lived on campus since I came to university, but I still wish my family lived close enough where I could stay at home. Not sure if that would really work, though, since I tried commuting one summer and I was often late to class, so maybe living right in the middle of campus is best for me. :) I can walk to most of my classes within 10 minutes, which is pretty good.

7 light years away

My school is also a commuter school. I live like maybe 30 minutes away, but that's with NO traffic. Normally I get threre within 45 minutes to an hour with traffic. Besides that fact that I enjoy living at home, my school is in an area i dont care for and would be scared to be taking a night class.

I always lived on campus.
The norm for undergrads is to live either on campus or in a fraternity/sorority house, most of which are across the river. The bridges are COLD and WINDY in winter... it's walkable, but less than pleasant... so I'm just as glad my sorority was unhoused and I didn't have to make that choice :p Most grad students get apartments near campus. There is graduate housing, but it's very difficult to get a spot after your first year. Unfortunately, the neighborhood isn't very safe. |
Last semester I lived 15-20 minutes away from campus. Any more than 30 minutes and I would have gone insane!

I am a 5 minute drive from my alma mater (UBC); however it takes me 30-60mins to get to BCIT (where I'm currently attending grad school).
