Cross Bids?
Can anyone explain to me what a cross bid is?
|
Do you mean getting cross-cut?
That is when a woman's choices on her bid card and the sororities that choose her intersect so that she doesn't receive a bid. (very simplified explanation) |
confused
Im confused as to what this still means?
|
From what I understand, doesn't it go like this:
A girl puts Mu Nu down first and Delta Alpha second, but Delta Alpha puts her on their first bid list and Mu Nu puts her on their second bid list. And she gets crossed cut. Is that right? |
weird
Thats harsh. So if you wanted this sorority, and they put you on their second list, as opposed to their first list, you cant get that sorority? That seems really odd to me.

Actually, the quote that sparked this whole question was, "We got all seven of our cross bids from ABC(another fraternity)"...
Still unsure what that means..... |

Cross-Cut:
PNM lists her/his GLO's after pref parties... If the first group the PNM wants makes quota before her/his name is reached on the list... Greek Life moves to their second choice... If the second choice reaches quota before reaching the PNM's name... then they move to the third choice (if there is three pref parties)... If the third GLO reaches quota before the PNM's name comes up.. then they have been cross-cut... Some Greek Systems guarentee a bid, so if the PNM is Cross-Cut they will match them with one of their three choices. Some systems will call those chapters that did not make quota or that are not at total after quota and ask the GLO if they wish to snap bid the PNM that is Cross-Cut. |
