Do you have a high gross out threshold?

Between growing up in a preedominately male household and stumbling upon nasty websites on the internet, I must say yes. But, the exceptions are dead bodies, worms :D, and VOMIT. I cringe at those three things.

It's weird because in my job sometimes I have to cut animals open. Luckily that's not very often. But when I do I'm sitting there the whole time saying, "This is so gross... this is so gross!" Cuz yeah I'm such a girl. But it doesn't actually gross me out too much, I just kinda act like it does.

Vomit definitely bugs me. And anything with more than 4 legs.

be a bouncer in a club/bar for a while, and you will see everything there is to see, nothing grosses me out now!

I would say that very little grosses me out. I worked in a hospital laboratory for six years and I have seen all kinds of things...there is crazy shit going on in hospitals!!

I can honestly say I have an ironclad stomach. Nothing but NOTHING grosses me out except for.....

MAGGOTS

Eeew! They are disgusting! I am afraid of them! A few summers ago I went to take out the trash and the outside trash bin lid wouldn't come off the can. I pulled and pulled and it finally popped off and maggots flew everywhere!!! I ran screaming into the house. I am getting queasy thinking of it.

Anyone see the old vampire movie "Lost Boys"? There's a scene where Jason Patric is eating rice from a Chinese takeout container and Kiefer Sutherland turns it into maggots. I wouldn't eat rice for about a year after I saw that.

Definitely vomit! And it seems everyone is doing it in every tv show and movie lately. It's just not necessary! THANK GOD I was turning to grab my drink during that Sopranos episode with Adriana and the feds!!!! I heard it and that was enough!

Also, cockroaches! I don't care that I am a million times bigger than they are, I run screaming whenever I see one. And I live in NYC so I see them a lot! :(

I have a really LOW grossout threshold. I hate to admit it, but everything that's even a little bit icky makes me really, really uncomfortable. My friends all make fun of me for it.

After taking care of countless nieces and nephews, vomit no longer makes me sick.

But doodoo does. Other peoples' doodoo, of course. ;)

I think i have a medium tolerance of ick factor. I can deliver baby lambs, disected animals for classes (cat, bird, rat, pig, cow heart, sheep eye, etc), helped patch up my dad's bad cut on leg. But like people eating bugs or nasty things like on fear factor, its grosses me out.

Oh, I forgot about EYES! I have an eye-phobia... Couldn't handle dissecting a sheep eye in anatomy class, or cutting out the fetal pig's eye. Once I saw a lab rat with really gross eyes and I actually screamed! I HATE EYES! I could NEVER wear contacts because I could never put anything in my eye...

I'm typically the one who grosses out my friends, but two things do make me cringe--- elevators and VOMIT! I always feel bad when I can't help my friends out when they're puking, but if I see or hear them puke, it's a chain reaction!

I'm the same way, but with ears instead of eyes!

I'm not a big fan of eyes, either, but I can manage contacts. When I first started wearing them, it took me over an hour to successfully get a contact in because I was so afraid of touching my eye.

NOTHING grosses me out, at all. I've dissected animals, seen pics off of rotten.com, saw that Daniel Pearl video and stuff on the internet, and saw a disection of a cadaver for biology class, but nothing grosses me out. I have a morbid facination or something because I'm one of those people who rubbernecks when I see car crashes. I could eat worms, vomit, etc... doesn't really phase me. Never has, sometimes online, the people I talk with and I will try to gross each other out by IMing morbid pictures too each other. My friends got me to eat canned cat food once for a bet. I've always been this way, desensitized or something--bodies and stuff don't bother me, but it makes me sad when I see hurt/dead animals because I think about the animals family, and I have lots of pets, so it hits home. Last summer my friend and I found a dead dog in the yard of this abandoned house. I cried because I love dogs, but I wasn't grossed out, I petted it's head and got an old blanket, and went back and covered it up. I can't watch movies where pets die/hurt, "Beethoven" "Lassie" and signs I went hysterical into tears.

My sister, on the other hand, cannot stand anything gross, she can watch TV with blood on ER, but vomit, or cleaning up after the cat grosses her out! She threw up once because that ate maggots on Survivor once, and she has this thing with food not letting food touch on her plate, but I always say, "It all touches in your stomach" and she is always like "so!" Hmm, SSS, my sister also has eye thingy too... she hates to go to the eyedoctor for this reason.
