We are going to war
 

So after being upset for a week about my breakup I got a wake up call last night- my best friend of 5 years is in the marine reserves and he has been called to active duty. The really bad part is- he is in a wartime squad. He operates a tank and is being called to his for Friday and has to be ready to be shipped out within two weeks.

Please pray for our men and women in the armed forces- and our country, because believe it or not we are going to war.

it is very hard to think about all craziness going on in the world and it is esp. hard when we see friends and family being called to active duty. since 9-11, i have had some high school friends be called to active duty :( if you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to pm me :)

Your friend and the other brave men & women who are going to fight for our country are all in my prayers.

ilovemyglo: Oh, sweetie....I'm so sorry to hear that. :( Does your friend know where he will be stationed?

My younger bro is in the Air Force stationed in Turkey right now. He's over there to patrol the no-fly zone and said that things are relatively calm in that department. However, he did note that since things were calm for a while, a bunch of troops were sent home. Now that things are looking bad, the reserve troops were called up. Maybe, God willing, everything will take a turn for the better.

Not a matter of 'if' we're going to war, but 'when'. As a former member of the Armed Forces (Cold War veteran), I'm keeping 'em in my prayers as well.

Best bet for the attack on Iraq: sometime next month around the time of the new moon (take as much advantage of the dark to call some bingo numbers on Saddam: B-1, B-2, B-52 ;) )

We could probably contain Saddam, but the one I'd be doublechecking my 'six' is North Korea - they're downright unpredictable and ruthless. Just give 'em any excuse to cross the 38th parallel and atomize Seoul.

A guy I've sort of been seeing is in the Marines and will be shipped off to Iraq by the end of the month. The things he was telling me about this war totally broke my heart. I will keep military personnel and everyone else in my thoughts and prayers.

One of my good friends keeps saying January 29, will be a big day. He's on his way to Germany right now. Another friend of mine is in Pakistan. And another friend's brother is stationed in the Gulf on a air craft carrier. Living in a military town, stuff like this really hits home.

one of my good friends from h.s is leaving for North Korea on Thursday... i think. He is going to be doing some stuff on land for the army... great place to go now. :rolleyes::eek::(
my friend in the navy reserves in praying that he doesn't get that call to go and is very antsy whenever is phone rings. i am praying he doesn't go either.

North Korea? You mean South Korea -- not unless he's going to be stationed at the DMZ (demilitarized zone). If that's the case, that sure ain't a healthy place to be in if the sh*t hits the fan over North Korean nukes.

North Koreans don't take too kindly to US military personnel snooping inside their 'socialist worker's paradise'. In fact, they're known to react with extreme violence at the slightest perceived transgression of their sovereignty.

I know a friend of mine I've known since junior high is probably somewhere in the Middle East right now -- he's a helicopter mechanic in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment ("Nightstalkers").

one of my good friends is a military police for the army... he goes to iraq in 3 days.
another leaves monday. he is also military police.

i hope theya ll come home safely..


oh yea.. front page of today's local newspaper:
"if we go to war gas prices may rise to almost $5 a gallon"

The Marine I mentioned above told me a bit of a "two front war which is WW II stuff." :( Nooo! I hope God watches over our troops as they are out there.

hmm... dunno. my friend said he was on his way to north korea... but i talked to my travelling friend and he said he was just going to korea in general. he trains in oklahoma and then gets shipped off for a year. :confused: all i know is that it probably isn't a too friendly place this time of year and he is not looking too forward to it.
