The Egyptian Elixir
 

Greetings to the distinguished men of Alpha Phi Alpha. I will be attending the Egyptian Elixir sponsored by the Alpha Rho chapter of Morehouse College and wanted to post the information and ask a question. Here is the website: http://www.alpharho.org/elixir2000.htm
My question pertains to the manner of dress. The website states that attire should be "cosmopolitan". I am not completely sure what this means. Could someone please enlighten me?

Electricity--
Typically, when people say that someone is cosmopolitan they mean that the person is sophisticated, elegant, urbane (not urban as in ghetto) etc. What they are probably trying to suggest is that hip hop gear would not be appropriate. Think trendy martini bar, upscale nightclub. Have a good time.
