ASB
who was a campus leader?
i was. i was junior class vice president, and senior class president. i had a blast when i was in ASB. you never get to really appreciate a rally, prom, or homecomming until you are the one who planned it, and put the whole thing together! anyone go to leadership camp too?

When I was at my junior college, I was a senator on the student government. Basically we represented the student body. I also served on committees of the college itself. Each committee has 2 student members. There was many. I forgot the specific committee names. It was a good experience and it was fun.

Oooh, I need to think back here. I was in almost every club imaginable and held several leadership roles.

For two years I was the homecoming chairperson and got to plan everything about the homecoming dance. (Came in handy when becoming social chair for my sorority) :D

For one year I was the treasurer of Student Council.

I was a delegate for LULAC.

I was marching section leader for a year. (Wow! J/K)

I also held several other committee leadership positions, but I can't think right now.

A friend of mine and I were trying to get a SADD chapter active on our campus, and had we been successful, I would have been co-president of that chapter.

lol...i've gotted to post on all of these threads so far. i guess i'm what teachers called well-rounded.....drama, band, sports, AND i was a senior leader (my senior year I went into freshman homerooms to help them adapt to high school), VP of America's PRIDE (an anti-drug club) and i was a facilitator in Just Say NO, where i talked to fourth-graders about drugs and making the right decisions.

When I was in high school, get a load of how much I was involved in:

--Band(served as Historian for 2 years, Prez for one year...made All-Region every year as well)

--Art Club(Secretary)

--Drama Club(Co-founder, President, Assistant Director)

--Beta Club

--Student Council

--FCCLA(Vice-Prez of Public Relations)

--FTA

--FBLA

--Quiz Bowl(captain)

--Yearbook

--Newspaper

See, I went to a VERY small school, and most of these clubs did little more than have meetings and maybe go on one trip. :D

Now, in College, I'm only involved in music stuff:

--SAI of course!! (Vice-President, Membership)

--Wind Ensemble(2nd chair alto sax)

--Jazz Band(lead player)

--Pop Ensemble

--Marching Band(section leader)

Was also in women's choir for one semester.

In high school I was a gym class Leader (sort of like a student teacher), National Honor Society Secretary, did two choirs (one concert and one show), Writing Center tutor, a Student Advisory Rep, and uh... did a lot of sports.

In college I was Secretary last year and Vice President of Student Ambassadors this year until I resigned because it had become corrupt and the entire Executive Board was against me... it was pretty ugly. A few weeks later they got busted for having alcohol at a Philanthropy for kids. Glad I got out in time. I was also an Orientation Counselor and I'm getting initiated into Order of Omega (and I'm going to look into possibly helping out as an officer).

I have so much fun doing retreats and leadership building activities. It's just so much fun to work with others for something positive. :D

I didn't do any leadership stuff in HS really.. In college though I'm the Senator for PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) and through that I was appointed Judiciary Chair of the Senate. Also have been involved in lots of other campus organizations and projects.

Ya wanna talk leadership?

I did too much leadership stuff in HS...I was Captain-President of the Quiz Bowl team, which was a career in and of itself. I coordinated EVERYTHING--practices, fundraisers, competitions, even the team shirts! I was a historian, Jr. year for the Art Club, Sr. year for our service clubs (ie, HS sororities). I was a "Spirit Coordinator" for our Inter-Club council...it sounds really too silly to go into here, but let's just say I'm from the South and I was busy during football season.

Looking back, I realize how much happier I am now with just doing AXO/Panhel stuff--and I'm Panhel president/VP-Finance. I'm active in environmental causes and to some extent women of color issues, but I don't feel as if I have to run like a madwoman between meetings. In HS, my activities made me overwhelmed and kept me busy. Now that I'm almost finished with undergrad, it's my academic work that keeps me busy.
