My first outside experience.
This past Saturday I was doing some after Christmas exchanges/returns with my best friend, who is not only my sister but also my roommate and old friend from high school. We were spending up her gift certificate in American Eagle and proudly sporting our AOP bags that we had received on Bid Night. While we were standing in line to check out some random girl turned around and says, "What school do y'all go to?" We both answered, "Ga State" thinking that this girl must have recognized us from around our primarly commuter school. She smiles and says, "I'm an AOP at Jack State." Let me tell you how awesome we thought it was that we had just met our sister from another school!!!! I was very happy to know that I was recognized as an AOP by a sister!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!:D

I had a similar experience...my first one since joining AOII! I go to Indiana University, but my family lives in Michigan. Dad and I went to a mall in Kalamazoo. I was wearing our really cute homecoming sweatshirt. On the front, it says, "Omicron" rather than the whole sorority name. Dad and I were looking at the display hot-tubs and this girl working at a stand came up to me and asked me what Omicron meant. I told her that it was the middle letter of my sorority name. She then asked what sorority I was in and I told her AOII. She kinda screamed and hugged me saying that she was an AOII too! She told me that she was initiated in a school in TN, but then moved to Michigan to a school where there weren't any AOII's. The neatest thing was that she was wearing a ring that looked exactly like the one I was wearing, but hers was gold and mine is silver! After my dad closed the deal with the hot-tub guy, I went over to her to say good-bye. I gave her my email address and told her that she was more than welcome to visit our chapter. She gave me another hug and then I left. She was such a nice girl, I really hope that she does email and bring some girls to IU. It was awesome to meet another sister! I hope it happens again soon!

I had a fun AOII surprise on bid night last year. I met my cousin Tom's girlfriend at Thanksgiving and she encouraged me to rush if I was thinking about doing it, but she never told me what house she was in. When I got my bid card, I called my parent's from the nearest pay phone to tell them where I got in. Later on, I checked my computer when I got back from bid night, and Tom's girlfriend had IMed me and told me that we were going to be sisters!!! She was an AOII at Leigh High university. Now, she is my cousin's fiance, and I couldn't be more excited!
