It just doesn't feel like Christmas...
Maybe I am just being Scrooge this year, but it just doesn't feel like Christmas.
Anyone else having this problem or am I just the weird one? |
It doesn't feel like Christmas here, either. We're having a green, relatively warm Christmas this year, which I think contributes to the feeling.

It sure as hell feels like a normal Christmas to me... working 62 hours retail this week! (normal week is 21 hours for me)
|
I totally agree!! Up in New England THANKSGIVING felt more like Christmas w/ all the SNOW we had! 45degrees on Christmas Eve is NOT fun! :( I like having to get all bundled up in a warm coat and scarf on my way out the door!!!!

My cousin worked 72 hours last week, and the only thing he said after it was over was "Bling, Bling"
Dunno what that was all about. |

Well, it's a rainy Christmas Eve here in North Florida with a temperature of 61 degrees. If that doesn't scream Christmas, I do not know what does :)
I guess it doesn't feel like Christmas because my family is kind of stuck in an "in between" phase (i.e. My parents have raised their children and have no grandchildren.) I just have always had such special memories of Christmas, but this year it just doesn't seem right, for whatever reason. |

Lazy Christmas
My family decided to move to another apartment during my winter vacation so I could help pack... Lucky me... Since all the money and time is going into being officially in the new place by the 30th, we are being very lazy this Christmas. We all have presents for one another at least, but I do not believe that any of them are going to be wrapped or even put into gift bags. Not that it matters because I always end up getting my Christmas presents when my mom takes me shopping with her... No element of surprise for me.
Whatever happened to the awesome Christmas Eve's where my mom would take us on a car ride to look at Christmas lights all over town and by the time we come back, Santa had visited? The memories of it all. |
I think it doesn't feel like Christmas because Thanksgiving was so late. Everything has been squashed into less than 4 weeks!
Most of the family is at Mass now but here I sit waiting for my two kids who work at the mall (Bath and Body, Limited Too) to call me so I can pick them up. Bummer. Then the good stuff starts! We will all have clam chowder, don't ask me how that started. Then we'll hang stockings and take Christmas Eve videos and with any luck, all 13 kids will be asleep before 11. Mr. Carnation and I will no doubt be up until about 3. And tomorrow, a photographer from the paper will be here to capture the hilarity. Aaaagggghhh! How did I agree to that? |
It doesn't feel like Christmas to me either because it's Christmas Eve and I'm sitting at work doing nothing! The only day off I get this week is Christmas Day and it's right back to work! These are the days that I wish I was still in college and have two weeks off!
Both of my roommates have gone home and I'm planning on staying at my parent's house tonight because I don't want to wake up in a cold, lonely house on Christmas morning! |
I have to work today and tomorrow-blah!! Cheers to all of you that have to work on Christmas and please keep your dogs out of the chocolate and cats away from the Christmas tree so I don't have to see you at the ER!

Even though we're getting a lot of snow here in Washington DC. it doesnt feel like Christmas. I think its because I have been so disconnected from the world this past month with starting a fraternity and school and other obligations. Maybe on Christmas Day I will be singing another tune.
