Have you thought about getting the small pox vaccine??
Although I think it's sad that we even have to think about this, President Bush obviously sees it necessary that he open smallpox vaccines to the general public. Even with all the side effects that the vaccine can bring.
Has anyone thought about whether or not they would get the vaccine? ANd not to get anyone to tell their age but ;) .... has anyone already been vaccinated? They were stopped in 1972 for school age children. Are any of you in the military or emergency workers that will be vaccinated?? Here's an article for more info. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,73179,00.html |
just thought i'd bring this thread back to life after reading this article: CNN
genetically altering smallpox? that's just asking for something bad to happen, IMO... |
I was born prior to 1972 and I believe I did receive a smallpox vaccination. I am needle-phobic, but if my doctor says it's necessary, I will do it.
I remember reading about it when I was a kid and seeing pictures. Horrific disease -- I cannot believe that a MINISERIES is being made about smallpox. :o |
I am old enough to have to explain to my children about the vaccination scar on my shoulder from it. Mr Sageofages has one too.
I would definitely be vaccinated and have my children as well, if it were open to the general public. I went to HS with a girl who had the disease :( She was terribly disfigured...looked like her skin had been melted. |
