The Road Less Traveled
The Road Not Taken
Two roads divided into sisterhood, And sorry I could not travel both Oh to be a "Soror", long I stood and looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth I took the other, as just as fair Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service they both claimed But one was "less traveled" and wanted wear, Though as for that, the "purpose" there Had made them really about the same And both before me equally lay Though the colors were different, the background was Black I couldn't choose the first for another day! Knowing how way leads onto way The sands once crossed, you can never go back. I shall tell my daughter with a sigh Somewhere years and years hence Two roads that led into sisterhood, and I -- I took the one less traveled by, AND THAT HAS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE! Robert Frost's poem, The Road Not Taken. I like the poem and thought of a way I could use it with my students when I was talking with them about sororities and why I chose Sigma. Thought I would share my "re-write" with you. |

BLU-tiful! don't make me preach!
SIGMA is indeed "the RHOad less traveled"...
as i always say, it takes a stronger character to depart from that which is popular in search of that which is different-- it takes a stronger woman to be an original, even if that means that she may walk with few, or even alone... to be that lone dissenter and to have a passion that burns like fire nonetheless, to hold your head up high and KNOW that assets of a qualitative nature will always exceed those of a QUANTITATIVE nature, that is a heavy burden, but i bear my burden with PRIDE! i am thankful for each of you, my sorors, who opted to take this RHOad less traveled! eeeeeeeeee-yip! i just love y'all! |
Sorhor,
All I can say is "Wow" I'm getting a bit emotional now and so I will keep this post brief. I just wanted to say that everyday as a Sigma Woman it gets sweeter and sweeter and sweeter. . . . Serioussigma22:cool: |
