Bridal Shower

My friend is having her bridal shower soon. The theme of the shower is "Around the Clock" The concept is that each guest has a specific hour of the day. The guest has to purchase a gift based on what they think the couple will be doing at that hour.

Get this, my hour is 2am. I have no idea what to get. There ideas such as lingerie, sheets, cozy blankets, and a sterling silver brush and mirror set.

The problem is that we're supposed to be creative. My creative juices just aren't flowing right now. Does anyone have any good ideas. They would appreciated.

Get the couple a book of Black Love poetry or even Black Erotica poetry. There is a lot of that, not just Zane either.

HAYLE @ 2a.m. my butt is sleep so get me a scarf, a pillow, and my sleep socks. :D and of course my single woman pajamas. :p

What about burning them THE ULTIMATE SLOW JAM CDs -- I mean like a 6 pack of CDs complete with candles and other :o presents.

PM a married person to find out more ideas of "other :o presents" because I am a single woman. :( :p

There is a board game called (I think) Newlyweds for couples to play....pretty interesting ;) If you want to do the combo gift (CDs, candles, etc) you can add a small gift that a friend of mine got at her bridal shower recently. It was a pair of dice (or should I say die English majors/teachers??). One die had things to do like kiss, pinch, etc and the other one had body parts. You do the math!! :D

I've also seen some very creative lingerie. You need an engineering degree to figure out how to put it on! lol

One idea is to make a gift basket not just for the bride-to-be, but include things for the groom also. At 2AM, I don't think there will be much talking going on so, I'd make them a basket of things to use. I'd include lotions, massage oils, candles, a book of poetry(erotic or romantic--your choice), and a pair of handcuffs...you never know these days...lol

Thanks guys. I love the idea of a basket of goodies. The book of poetry or erotica, the candles, the lotions or message oils, and possibly and compilation CD of some sort. I wish I could burn the CD but my burner is at school. The handcuffs and the dice, uhm, I'm not to comfortable with. Especially since her mom and aunts will be there.

Smooth Grooves is a good one. They have several. Do you know anyone with a burner you can use?

a married woman's POV...

How about a good video...babies do wake up at 2 a.m.

Try Mr. Mom or Look Who's Talking Now.....oldies but goodies :)

Also, serenity cd's like the sound of a river or crackling thunder sometimes soothe babies and restless parents...

Gift certificates to online retailers for late night shopping

There is a foot massager at Walmart for $14.95 (ya know the kind you soak your feet in)

Just to name a few.....

Similar situation

I have a similar situation.....

The bridal shower that I'm attending has a theme of "gifts of time", with the same general concept.

The time that I've been assigned is evening. Any suggestions fof gifts???

CrimsonTide4 01-23-2003 10:53 AM

I thought about this topic this morning as I laid in bed wondering why this mofo blew his horn for 45 minutes. Just leave who ever you were picking up and let me go back to sleep.

When is the shower? What about tickets to a play or even a concert? Something the couple can do outside of the home and maybe a basket of couple goodies -- bubble bath, candles, a nightie for her, massage oil, etc.

I have good ideas. Too bad no one to buy for. :o
