Hey Charlotte folks....

BET founder billionaire Robert Johnson has been chosen as owner of the NBAs new Charlotte expansion franchise. They will begin playing during the 2004-2005 season.

He is the league's first black MAJORITY owner, according to the newspaper.

The group seeking the team is headed by Boston businessman Steve Belkin and Larry Bird.

Maybe you all can holla at your boy and ask him what the dealy-o is with BET.

I heard it this morning and thought maybe they said ROB Johnson but alas :(. . . maybe his b-ball team will come out to Ja Rule songs. Trust me it will be interesting.

Robert Johnson as of today is officailly awarded the team in Charlotte(I might have to move back....), and to add as far as the programming goes.....the person in charge of that is dictated by slaes #. Until we as Black folk start recognizing that we really won't have any control, I mean think about it...it is the year 2002 and we have ONE Black station (that small station in Fla. does not count!) out of the hundreds of stations out there. As long as people watch those shows on BET they will not change, and that frankly is what makes BET well worth over the 3 billion that Bob Johnson recieved. Ah yes and what Frat is Bob apart of I wonder?

But I digress... I'm glad to see a BLACK,STRONG, POSITIVE Brother making a difference in Charlotte besisdes "Harvey Gant". So now since the Charlotte business community sees that we do have brains I wonder how many of US will be working for the team in general. This should also provide a major upswing in Black businesses in Charlotte and it might inspire some of those reverends in Charlotte to run for political office or something....

The future of charlotte will be interesting indeed..

To be continued.......
