ideals
so, my professor had us write an extra paper and said we could write about whatever we want. i decided to do mine on the philosophical implications of basing the fraternity on the ideals of love, charity and esteem. i don't know how profound it is, but i might send it to hq, see if its worth spilling some ink.
essentially, it details how the ideals are interrelated and call for an empathic reponse on the part of fraternal members, which in turn helps ensure the integrity of the whole by engendering support of respect for the individuals within it. comments, questions? |
It would be a good thing to post in the Teke. Youshould submit it maybe you will inspire more fraters.
|
hmm, good idea. i don't know if its necessarily inspirational, more analytical. plus its 5 pages long, i don't know if the teke would devote that much space to publish it. maybe i'll look into one of the fraternity professional's magazine.

I personally would love to read it
|
if anyone wants to read it, pm me your e-mail. i will e-mail you a copy
maybe i'll get our alumni association to post it on the website. |
yea, send me a copy wes_517@yahoo.com
just curious, for the thinking part of it, what documents did you go to for the ideas or was it based on your thoughts so far? |
i sent that paper ot the guys that requested it. i'd post it, but its 5 pages a little too long i think.
|
good paper, you hit alot of really good points, have you ever tried the activity where you take the declaration of principles and break it down paragraph by paragraph?
|
we did something like that during pledging, but it took me 5 pages just to discuss philosophically 3 words and i could've wrote a lot more! i'm thinking it would be a major undertaking to try and break down the entire dec. of principles. i'm glad you enjoyed the paper though. i've done a couple philosophical and practical works on and for tke, including a new process for recruitment (combing EMGAM and frater muse's key man theory). i've been working on a seminar to teach self-actualization by becoming a better brother, but its still on the back-burner. maybe now that its spring break i'll have some more time to work on it.
