I just realized

that I can't party the way I used to anymore. Age is comming to haunt me. Me and my mates decided to go clubbing this weekend. It was me, a Phillipine, two Mexican, 3 South African, an Israeli and a Lebanese (it's the United Nations for clubbing.) Well, at around 5 in the morning i fell asleep at the club. But those young lads went on partying till 9:30 in the morning. Man, back in the younger days I could have parties with them, but no more. I was passed out and asleep in the couch dreaming about how I can make my cv looks better.

Yeah, when I turned 40, beer started giving me a headache.

I realized I wasn't a rock star anymore when I went back to Homecoming last year. My friends and I drank like we did back in the day, when we went out 4 or 5 nights a week. I was sick for three days afterwards. Anymore anything more than 2 or 3 beers/drinks and I've got a killer headache the next day. This is at 24. I'm going to hate to see how bad it gets the older I get!

My freshman year I would throw back shot after shot. I would then drink a lot of beer. I wouldn't get home until 3am and I'd still be able to wake up for a 9am class without feeling hungover. I would do this every single day of the week. It caught up with me my junior year. I tried doing the drink all night and then get up early for class thing. I woke up the next morning and spent the day with my head in the toilet.

I haven't been hungover in a while. And when I drink I tend to drink a lot. NOt to the point of crazy/sloppy anymore but still.

MoxieGrrl 12-17-2002 05:18 PM

*sighs* I learned this past weekend that I can't drink anymore either. Even though I'm 23, I tried to drink like I did at 18....Sunday was *not* a swell day for me.

amycat412 12-17-2002 05:26 PM

lol I seem to be experiencing a renaissance of my abiliity to party.

Thursday night - 4am
Friday night 2am
Saturday night -- 8am sunday morning

lol
the only day i felt like crap was sunday, and i think was more from lack of sleep, too much dancing in the world's most uncomfortable stilettto heeled boots, than from everything i i drank. didn't have a headache/stomach ache, was just sore everywhere and exhausted beyond belief.

but, then again, multiple late nights/all nighters in a row is not something i can do often. still seems mr amycat and i and our best couple friends have at least one all nighter a month and we're all in our late 20s and early 30s.

:)

I hear ya. And I'm only 21!!!!!! I get so tired, that I don't even wana go to a club, and I'll only go to sit down bars. Sometimes I'm even too tired for that.

Right now I might possibly be skipping out on goin to Canada for one of my best friends bdays cuz I don't feel good and I'm tired. I used to be able to party till whenever the sun came up. :(

juniorgrrl 12-18-2002 02:47 AM

Not only can I not party anymore, I can barely stay up past 10pm lately! I routinely fall asleep during SNL.

The one time I drank this semester, I downed waaaay too much vodka for someone who hadn't been drinking in awhile. I spent the entire night and next morning throwing up violently. Not cool.

KappaTarzan 12-18-2002 03:35 AM

i'm still in rockstar phase ;) i rarely go to bed before 6am, and most days i make it to 7am breakfast before i nap before work/class. this will change when i go back home for winter break, but then rechange when i come back for spring semester. I LOVE BEING A ROCKSTAR!

OK, as an ex-band member I have to say I have really slowed down. There was a time I could go round the clock without any help except caffeine. Jack Daniel's straight and good music was all it took. You wouldn't even know that person existed...
Babies, a husband, a REAL job and birthdays can take a toll.
Still, if you give me a GREAT band, G&T (Gin and Tonic) I can make it till 3:00. (IF I had a nap;) ) I STILL GOT IT!:D

MoxieGrrl 12-18-2002 10:42 AM

You know what it might be? The real world might be sucking out our will to have a real life! For those of you who have heard me complain about my job, it isn't that my work is physically taxing...it just drains me.

Well, at least Christmas is coming up. Even if I don't drink for a long time, I will drink like a fish at family gatherings. Maybe I think that being around my family is an instant buzz killer.
