NYC transit strike!
This sucks!
I am sitting here and there is 20 minutes untile the deadline. I can't believe this is happening! I live in a two-fare zone and I already have trouble getting around. The subways are the veins that run through the body of NYC. I see transit workers doing their jobs 365 days a year and I feel they deserve to have benefits and feel safe at work. All of those not living and working in NY, please pray for us. Right now, it is 7 minutes til the deadline. I hope everyone is safe for the holidays. |
what happen
|
As far as I know, the strike has been avoided. For now!
|
Sorry...but I'm a little lost. What strike?
|
Well as of now the transit strike was avoided. The Transit Workers Union in NYC is asking for better wages, pension, health benefits, and more sick time. Even though the strike deadline expired last night, people are still unsure as to whether there will or will not be a strike since the union is still negotiating the about money. Here is the link to the story

I don't think they will do it. There is entirely too much at stake. If they do, I can't see it lasting more than 24 hours, because it will completely cripple all of the 5 boroughs
 |
TWU and MTA officials have just reached an agreement. The strike has been avoided.
|
Hooray! Now I get to take my finals BEFORE I leave for VA.
|
Whew!
Boy Iwould have been biking my way to school LOL :)
|
Cha-Ching!
Get ready for the fare hikes!
|
Oh no!
I forgot the mayor was talking about raising the fair to avoid service cuts. I am not paying 2.00 each way. I guess the car sales in NYC are about to go up too. |
Damn, just the other day (or at least that's what it feels like) the price went up to $1.25, and now it is almost up to $2.00!!! That is crazy!!!
