Auburn Univ. Chi Omega chapter raised $32,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation. The foundation grants wishes to children with life threating diseases. Impressive job!

Wow, that's fantastic! I know the whole chapter must have worked really hard to raise that much for their philanthropy. Congratulations, girls!

Ivy, I'm sorry I don't know how the Chi Omegas raised the money. I do know that it was the Birmingham Make a Wish fund raising campaign. It was called "Stories of Light", where a story of the BellSouth building was lit up for every $5,000 raised. Chi Omega lit seven floors. When Chi Omega presented their check, the director from Make a Wish said it was the largest amount raised by a non-business. Congrats to the Chi Os!

Having done these philanthropies myself for a number of years I'm really impressed at the amount they raised. I understand they sponsored a Walk and had over 500 participants.

An interesting side-bar is that one of the Chi Omega seniors was herself a "Wish" child when she was younger. Her wish was to see the Dave Mathews band. This must have been a wonderful moment for her to share as both a recipient and as a philanthroper. I get choked up just thinking about it.
