saturday finals...

who has them? at sdsu there are certain classes that have department finals, and everyone must take them at the same time on a saturday---its really gay. anyway, it is 2:00 am and my italian final is at 8:00 am...i have been studying, and i just needed a GC break.
so who else had a saturday final this semester?

When I was in college, before I transfered, we had "open" exams they were held Thurs through Saturday. What I mean by "open" is the auditorium was open from like 8 am to 8 pm with breaks for lunch and dinner. The students could just walk in and take their exams on their own time and leave when they were finished. The exams were proctored too, where the professor was not there. Rather the school's judical board would monitor the exams.

While open finals sound cool, I could not imagine having Saturday finals...I mean that's already December 21st!

We have unit finals for most language courses up until 4th semsester level. Also Gen Chem 1 and 2, Bio 101, and Calc 1 classes all have the final at the same time, no matter what time the each section meets, but none on Saturday.

Though a saturday final would suck, I have an example that is far worse: At Kansas, for General chemistry, there is only one section. Everyone on campus takes General chemistry at the same time in an 800 person lecture hall. Then there are obviously different lab sections and times, as well as discussion/recitation sections. My friend had a girl on her floor who was taking chemistry and had gone to one of the last freshmen registration days during the summer. the only remaining lab time available for her was 730 am on SATURDAY!!! That has to be the worse class time ever!
