I finally got my tattoo!!!!!!!!

I just walked in the door from getting my second tattoo!!! Picture the new member badge. Got it in mind? Okay, that's what I got, although the ivy leaf is maroon and the A - Phi letters are not colored (they are my skin color). It is prettttttty!!!!!!! Oh yeah, I got it on my foot, about mid-way between my pinky toe and my ankle. It is at a 45 degree angleand is the size of about a quarter, maybe a little bit bigger. I will have to take a picture and post it.

I am super excited about it!!!!!!!!! I called my big on the way to the parlor and she was giving me ideas, but I know she wasn't taking me seriously. I called after it was over with and she was all excited and congratulated me. I LOVE MY BIG!!!!! She is the best big in the whole wide world. I would never, ever wish for another!!! :D

It wasn't really a "spur of the moment" type of deal, per se. Today at work, around 4pm-ish, I was in this hyper mood and called my biological sisiter and told her that when I got out of work I wanted to go and get a tattoo. Fast-forward to tonight. We were going to go out to a club with a whole bunch of people I work with, but we ended up staying home b/c we were all tired. At 1:30am, my sister busted out with, "So let's go and get your tattoo." I got the pictures, and we took off. The rest is history! :D

Ohhhh, I am so excited you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks Melsan! ;) When I go up to SA, you will get to see how pretty it is! :D And no, it did not hurt. It........tickles, I guess. I don't how to explain the feeling. But anyway, I am super excited about my tattoo! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!

I've wanted a tattoo since I was about 17 (I'm in my 30s now) but never got up the nerve to do it. You're brave!

SATX*APhi 12-09-2002 01:54 AM

It didn't hurt, I promise! You should get one. ;)

Sistermadly 12-09-2002 02:10 AM

Well, I wanted one at the small of my back which is a really painful place to get it, from what I've heard.

I'm also in the process of losing weight, so I want to wait until I'm at my goal before I get one. I'd hate for it to get distorted!

The tattoo artist told me where I got mine (on the foot) is one of the most painful places to get a tattoo, and like I mentioned before, it was not painful at all. It's a little larger than the size of a quarter and it took about 15 minutes to do.

Tattoo pain really all depends on your own pain tolerance. I've gotten two (one on my lower back, one on my shoulder blade) Neither of them really hurt. Kind of felt like someone rubbing sandpaper on my skin. I have a friend who got one on his bicep, which is supposed to be the least painful place to get one, and he cried like a baby.

CONGRATS on your new tattoo!!! Picture, now!! :D j/k

One of my sisters has the new member badge tattooed on her lower back, but it's outlined in black ink. I've been thinking about getting the same tattoo my roommate has. It's an ivy vine about two inches long (kinda like a sideways S). Below the vine on the bottom right are the letters "aoe". The letters are small and in lower case. It's all in black, very simple, and pretty. She has it on her right front hip bone. It's a good place because it's easily hidden. I was with her when she got it, but I chickened out. I already have a pretty big dragon on my right lower back, so I'm afraid two will be a little too much for me. I don't know...

Jess, both wouldn't be too much. I promise! :p

congrats on your new tattoo. I would like an A. Phi tattoo, but I have no idea what to do.

SATX*APhi 12-20-2002 05:26 AM

If you do get a tattoo, make sure it is something you think about and are sure you want. I thought about my second tattoo (the A-Phi tattoo) for a good while before getting it. My first was a spur of the moment type of deal and I regretted it until I finally realized "it'll be with me forever -- get over it!" :D If you do decide on something, let us know. Or also, if you need help coming up with ideas, that's what we're here for.
