Are there any questions that people ask you all the time, usually stupid?

Here's mine:

*Why don't you have a boyfriend?

*Are you lesbian?

*What high school did you go to?

*What's your racial/ethnic background?

*Why don't you drink?

*Why don't you ever talk?

*Why don't you ever shut-up?

*Are you high?

*Is that your mom or your sister?

In Hawaii, the two biggest questions for ANYONE are:

"What school you went?" [What high school did you graduate from?]

and

"What are you?" [What's your ethnic background?]

Suprisingly enough, those two questions tell a lot about a person's local identity...where they're from...who their family is...etc.

"do you and your sisters make out?"
"do you and your roommate make out?"
"do you wear colored contacts" (i hate this one. i just have really blue eyes)
"oh my god is that your MOM or your SISTER?"

and this isn't a question but whenever i take my shoes off people say "WOW i didn't know you were that short!" grrrrr

Are you sure you're okay?

Oh, you're Hispanic...? Do you speak Mexican? ( :mad: :rolleyes: :mad: )

"Does this come in white gold?"

"I love that diamond you're wearing. Where'd you get it?"

"Where's the restrooms?" (do I look like a walking mall directory?)

Thats about all I can think of. As you can tell, I live at work!

"Are you French?"

"Don't you ever go out?"

"Hey, are you from the country?"

"What are you gonna do after you get out of school?"

And the answers are no, sometimes, of course, and I DON'T KNOW!! :)

These are all the main questions I get from family and friends of my parents- well with the exception of the first two.

The question I get the most that I really can't stand is, "So when are you and your boyfriend getting married?" Most of my relatives married really young and they just don't understand that I want to be a little more stable financially and in my career before I get married, even though my boyfriend and I have been together for 4 1/2 yrs. :rolleyes:

Aren't you a bit young to be married? No...I'm 23 and I love my husband VERY much!

Where's Nova Scotia? Is that near Toronto? Or Vancouver? No...it's on the east coast! (Why is it that most people only know of either Toronto or Vancouver anyway?!)

Hee hee....can you tell that I have a slight issue with the constant questions I get because I'm Canadian?! I have been asked each of these questions at least once since moving to the States. I understand that a lot of Americans aren't knowledgeable about Canada...but some of the questions were just plain ridiculous!!!!

*So what are you majoring in? Which is usually followed by "What are you going to do with that?" since I'm a sociology/Pre-med student. For some reason people don't make the pre-med connection to med school or being a doctor.

*Where are you from? Which is followed by "on the Kansas or Missouri side?" since I'm from suburban Kansas City...on the kansas side.

*so where do you want to go to med school? Only recently has this one been asked, but now it seems like I get it everytime I meet someone new. I honestly don't know...any place that will take me pretty much.

*What brought you to Nebraska?

*Do you know (insert name of a guy in my chapter)? No...I don't know anyone that I live with...
