Social Budget

I don't know if this is any of my business, but tell me if you can
Social Chairs:
What is your budget like for a years/semester's time? I am especially interested in those with a sorority ranging from 40 to 70 members, but anyone is welcome to contribute. I am just interested in getting an idea of how you pay for the functions you put on because we are getting ready to redo our budget and I want to be fully prepared and informed about what I should be asking for.

I know we're really small, but we base our budget on the number of sisters that will most likely return and the number of girls we need to get to total. This year it was like $2100 for the whole fiscal year for hoopefully 40 sisters. Hope this helps!

Our social budget this semester is at zero. It is used as motivation for brothers to participate in fundraisers. If we don’t fundraise we don’t have any social/mixer events. This however does not apply to any formal events.

We will offer $5 a girl/ normally though.. . we spend 60 for 25 girls. Which is prett damn good in my opinion. Maybe the guys here are just nice, but thats what we usually spend.

From a fraternity standpoint, we have around 50 guys and we spend around $5,000 a quarter. It pretty damn fun though. We have it budgetted so that $100 comes from every person. I know that this is a lot more than most sororities. However, I have heard of rush budgets (which should be comparable) of $50,000-$100,000. That seems a little crazy but those texas greeks are crazy. Just a little info for ya. I guess most of the extra money goes into parties and alcohol for most. we will never buy alcohol with chapter funds. Against our by-laws.
