Will and Grace Wedding!
 

Oh Wow! Grace and Leo are married on Will and Grace! Anyone else see this episode? What did you think?

It was cute. However, the Jewish wedding that was portrayed was not too accurate. First, a bride is usually walked down the aisle by not only her father, but her mother too. Next, people usually do not stand up as the bride enters the santuary. Classical music like the music played would not likely be played. I usually like Will & Grace though.

I thought it was all some sick dream! I mean the whole reception was a NIGHTMARE! And my best friend and I kept saying, oh it's probably a pre-reception dream. BUT IT WASN'T! I can only say I am surprised that they actually tied the knot. I didn't know it was going to be a 90 minute episode...I was sorta confused how they could get married without having actually gotten engaged in LAST week's episode.

But, it all worked out and it'll be interesting to see how LEO fits into the crew!

Some of my sisters and I watched it tonight. Needless to say...we were cracking up the entire time. I absolutely love Will and Grace!!!! I really didn't want her and Leo to get married so soon but c'est la vie. We all think she's gonna end up pregnant with Will's baby though. How else would they keep it interesting now that Grace is married?????

What kind of music is normally played at a Jewish wedding? Just curious. I've been to Bat Mitzvahs but never a Jewish wedding.

I thought it was a very funny, sweet episode. And yay my VCR taped it while I was at class!!!:D

I loved grace's line to will after he kinda snubbed her when she and leo announce they got married

"Song of Songs" would most likely been sung. This is from the Writings of the Hebrew Bible. It states among other things, "I am my beloved and my beloved is mine". It is one of the most romantic parts of all the Jewish writings. Otherwise known as Keubium. Also in "Will and Grace", a Keutuba would have been presented. This is a marriage contract and would have been signed by the bride and groom and two witnesses, along with the rabbi.
I am suprised on "Will & Grace" they did not show "Leo" stomping on a glass that was wrapped up in a cloth. This is VERY traditional. After the groom stomps on the glass item everyone shouts "MAZEL TOV"!!!!! at the new married couple. This stomping represents along with the happiness of this wedding there are sad things in Jewish history that always should be remembered.

Could it be that they did this as a Reform Jewish wedding ceremony, or would all of what you said still be applicable? Just curious. I've dated a fair share of Jewish men, all Reform Jews, and never in the conversations about marriage did the formality of it all come up.

So, since I hope to actually marry a Jewish man (don't ask, LONG story), I'd really like to know... THANKS!

I think Leo will end up being sterile or something and she will end up getting impregnated by Will...as originally planned.

I've been to a few Jewish weddings in my time, and all of them had huppahs (the wedding canopy) and the breaking of the glass. Most of them also had ketubahs, some of which were works of art! Most of my friends framed them and hung them in their new house.

IMO, Jewish weddings are beautiful and so symbolic. I love their traditions because they are so similar to my family's. If you are ever invited to a Jewish wedding, GO! It is an experience that you will NOT forget. :D

I'm not surprised that the show had a sanitized wedding (ie, non-ethnic, religiously-affiliated). I don't expect too much from network TV nowadays.

Am I the only one who thought it stunk?

I thought the show was pretty funny. But, I don't think Leo and Grace will stay together long since none of her relationships last. The bloopers show afterwards was hilarious.

I don't see how "Leo" can be a regular unless Harry Connick, Jr. is giving up his singing, etc., performances... Too bad he didn't sing along with "Grace" so he would cover up her voice,;) :p

I've not only been to Reform and Orthodox weddings, but been in them too. The things I have mentioned the previous post applies to Reform weddings as well. I also could'nt believe Grace had a sleaveless dress too. One should at least have their shoulders covered, even at a Reform wedding.
Back to "Will & Grace": I was dissapointed in the episode. Because the wedding was very inaccurate and there was not too much to the story plot.
