Just when I thought I was making headway...

Well, I guess this is my second first post. My post count went back to zero for some reason.

*Twlight Zone Music*

Anyone have an idea why?

Thanks!

tinydancer 11-21-2002 12:49 AM

Yeah, I think it's a communist plot!! One of my previous posts today is now #17, but earlier it was like #23 or so. What is up with that???

Hey! Now I can post from home - I have no idea what i did, but it works now!

moe.ron 11-21-2002 06:45 AM

It's not the communist, but the stonecutters. Remmember, if it weren't for them STeve Guttenburg would still be popular.

tinydancer 11-21-2002 09:28 AM

Yep, ya gotta watch out for those stonecutters. Some days they are all out to get us.

Hey!! Me too!!!!

I've been a member of GC for over a year. I am a "Senior Member" with a few hundred posts. All of a sudden, about two weeks ago, I wasn't able to log in. I haven't been able to post, only read. I'd log in and it would say "Thank you for logging in Navane" and then dump me right back into the "You are not logged in screen".

Today, after repeatedly logging myself in, I managed to get on. When I clicked to reply to a post, I had to login a couple more times! Finally it came onto the reply screen and I managed to get my reply posted. When it took me back to the thread, it said that I only have 3 posts!!

What's going on?!!? I bet there are people who can read but not post as well. Help!

.....Kelly :(

tinydancer 11-21-2002 11:10 AM

Yeah, that is exactly what it was doing to me. Then yesterday at work (where I could log on) I started looking at the different settings and I guess I changed the right one, but I don't remember how I got there or what I changed. You'd think I would write these things down.

Always write the important things down. Later on, you can forget where you wrote them. (words to live by)

OHHHH - I never thought of that! But at least that does make sense. I'd like to know what happened to that thread. Do threads accidentally go away? I've just been around since summer, so I am not sure. I thought you had to delete it yourself or one of the mods could delete also.

The AI thread may be floating around out there in space - along with several books that have just disappeared from my circulation system here at the school library!

OMG, I'm missing about 200 posts because I was over 1000! I know I didn't post THAT many on the alumni initiation thread, so there must be others missing as well. :(

why?????

why would they take away the tread for alumnae honor initation? it is very popular...for some of us who relied on that thread getting us through the process of it all.

Laura, I'm guessing that nobody took the thread away on purpose. It seems like there must have been some problem with GC and stuff was deleted by accident. At least that's my guess, but it would be nice to hear from someone who knows for sure.

It started me over at the big, fat zero, though, and I know I have commented on other threads.

Things that make you go "Hmmm... "

It makes me feel better to know I am not the only one, though.
