Strange thing happened today

Today at work, we employees were informed that there was a missing child in the store. We all stopped what we were doing and began walking around the entire store looking for this 6 year old little boy named Zachary who was wearing a yellow Pokemon shirt. The mother of the boy kept running past me as I walked up and down the aisle yelling, "Zachary, Zachary!!" After about five minutes, we finally found him in the boys section hiding beneath one of the racks of clothing. I went and found the mother and told her we had found her son. She ran over to her son and grabbed and hugged him and said, "Do you know how scared I was?" At that moment, I have no idea why, but I got this awful feeling in my stomach and began to get very teary eyed and had to excuse myself. I do not know why I began to cry, but I just cried and cried. It was very weird and I have no idea why I reacted as I did.

Could anybody perhaps suggest a reason why I reacted the way I did?

Have any of you had anything totally random and unexplainable happen lately?

You had a very tense and dramatic experience. Thank God the outcome was positive. You probably cried because you needed to release all of the adrenaline in your body. Plus you were relieved and choked up at the mother's reaction. Don't worry, you're not weird. You're normal. :)

this little boy couldn't find his mom, today, and he was crying. we paged her, and felt like heroes.

i know a lot of people who used to hide in the middle of clothes racks.

I don't think it's weird at all.

I know that with the recent child abductions of the past year, everyone can kind of sympathize with parents of missing children because no one ever wants to go through something like that. I know that I've been ultra-protective of my nieces recently because of all of this...and they may hate me for it, but I don't know what I'd do if any of my loved ones were missing.

Nevermind.
