Officers?

How do your chapters do officers? Do they turn over in Janurary or at the beginning of the school year? We just got slate for this year. I'm slated for membership chair! Hopefully all will go well. :)

Hey

we just finished slate as well here at VT. We hold officer transition at the first meeting of the spring semester since thats when our new pledge class comes in after rush. Which is coming up very soon :D

The new officers are slated and elected in late October/early November and are installed a week later. During Homecoming Week this year we had outgoing and incoming Exec both serving, and while the new exec is now in office through the next calender year, the old exec still enjoys their privileges til the end of the semester (like the good bedrooms in the house and exec parking).

We just had exec interviews and slate will be announced the Monday night we get back from thanksgiving break. We will then vote on slate the first weekend in December. The officers will then be installed in January. I interviewed for VP Moral and Recording Secretary. Currently I am the assistant secretary which has the same job description as corresponding secretary.

Hey...

I was installed as membership chair yesterday! Exciting because now we're in the throes of COB. :) :)

Hey, yea for you! How goes the COBing?:)

Good so far. We'll be extending one bid today to a woman who came to us on pref night and then just withdrew from rush, unsure she wanted to be Greek... and then realized all her friends were Pi Phis. :) We have about 9 other people on our list of potentials at this point. I think next week or the week after we should have 2-3 more ready. (2 more have GPA issues so we'll probably pick them up in the 6-week spring term so that they have time to pull up their grades.)

I was installed as Recording Secretary this past sunday and my roommate is the Social Chair. She's awesome and already has something planned for sunday with Sigma Nu! :D

We've got an interesting situation at ON Gamma. Traditionally, our elections have been in March, with the last 2 meetings run by new exec.

This year chapter voted to move elections to coincide with calendar year instead of school year. This way our incoming exec will have more time with their past officer. Plus next year we have a large number of leaving seniors, so chapter didn't want a bunch of poor new exec with no one to refer back to.

So, elections are in Feb for March to October, then we'll be reslating in October to execute the move. Essentially those elected in Feb will only serve a few months, but I'm proud that they made the decision they did - it was right for our chapter and I"m so proud they were unselfish.
