colligiate chapters

How many Beta collegiate chapters are there? I know you have different degrees, but all together-anyone know? I didn't see it on the website. Where re they located?

Thanks!

I only know of one, located at Kettering (Formerly the General Motors Institute). Their website is here: http://www.gmi.edu/~betasigb/

I know there's one in Texas too, but I'm not sure as to the web address. If I find it I'll let you know though.

I hope I am not crashing your board, but having gone to St. Mary's University, I never knew that there was a Beta Sigma Phi chapter there. Are they not recognized or fairly new?

I found some info on the St. Mary's web site and now I remember the group. On the last day of classes they always initiated a water balloon fight with one of the fraternities. :)

Glad to know that they are having fun! Sounds like something that the rest of us would do if given the chance huh? ;)

do they have a website? I really like checking out the websites for our "younger generation" :)

OrigamiTulip 01-23-2003 11:51 PM

I can't find one for them. :(

OrigamiTulip 08-01-2004 04:32 PM

While searching for chapter websites today, I found an article from the University of Alaska - Southeast paper announcing plans to start a Beta chapter on the campus.

Yay for more collegiate chapters!

Isn't there one at UMass that Erica founded? Or am I wrong about that?

I want to think there is a chapter at LSU, too, or it's just an off-campus org. that involves LSU students.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hollie.

I think the UMass chapter is "officially" off-campus, though...

You're right, Measi.
Delta Pi isn't actually a campus organization. For one thing, we had no desire to "compete" with the NPCs, multi-cultural sororities, or the long-standing local sorority at UMass. For another, Beta Sigma Phi sisters take great pride in being open to women of all ages and levels of education, so we wanted to keep ourselves open for non-students, grad students, etc. We decided to be a Ritual of Jewels chapter instead of a Nu Phi Mu chapter because I was nearly too old for Nu Phi Mu, and I was the founder!! :)

And this individual who is hoping to meet up with them come the school year thanks you for not limiting the age to collegiate members. :)

(although I probably would have looked into the alternative of FV'ing a chapter from them for the UMass alumnae and going from there, if that were the case)
