I need to start thinking of ideas for an upcoming wedding. They are not going to be registered anywhere and all they need is kitchen stuff. If you were getting married what kind of stuff would you like to get for your kitchen. When I got married I already had everything so I can't think of anything right now!

Do they like to cook? If so, I say it's better to have one or two really top quality pots than a whole set of so-so ones. I have a few All-Clad and some Calphalon and they're soooo great to cook with. Also, how about some cookbooks? You could get them some classics like Joy of Cooking and Fannie Farmer as well as something new. Alton Brown, the guy from Good Eats, has a really great new book called I'm Just Here for the Food. what is your budget? its easier to make suggestions based on that :)

I am in three weddings in a row starting the last week of June and every saturday after that. I am very close with both the bride and the groom in each wedding. What can I get them that won't put me in the poor house, but not make me look like a cheap ass either. One of them, I am the best man, and I plan on throwing them a little BBQ party and giving them a nice grill, but for the other two I have no idea.

I would check and see if the couples are registered somewhere. That way you can select something that they really want and stay within your budget.

Money is not an issue. :)

A tablecloth and napkins can be a nice gift. Something that the couple can use on holidays and special occasions. :)

On The View the other day, one of their picks for a great wedding gift was an ice bucket from Tiffanys, for around $80.

The best wedding gift I received: a coffeemaker w/ timer. WE LOVE IT! (It's a Krups, in case you're curious.)

I recently attended a shower & the bride was registered for the same one. I bought it for her & included packages of gourmet coffee.

- Really good knives...
- Le Creuset pots and pans... or copper ones, those are cool too.
- I agree with the idea of something from Tiffany's... they always carry good stuff.

You say they only need kitchen stuff, but why not get them something they don't need? Like something personal that will mean a lot to them... Or just something cute, like a big picnic basket with a checkered blanket and some good wine and cheese...

well the reason i asked budget is because generally people register for stuff for their wedding that they kind of want but would never buy for themselves, like maybe one of those big fancy mixers, or as someone else suggested really nice pots

I think something from Tiffany's is an excellent idea.

Do either of them like to cook/bake? If so, why not a Kitchen Aid Mixer. They are awesome! They run around $200.

After 14 years of marriage, here are the things that I really use and LOVE!

Pampered Chef stoneware (the large round and large rectangle stones are probably used 6 days/week around here.)

Kitchenaid stand mixer (have a basic one and it gets the job done for a family of 5)

Pyrex measuring cups

Heat-resistant spatulas and scrapers

Le Crueset cookware (this stuff is awesome and made to last)

I'm lucky enough to live near a Penzeys Spices retail store, so I can vouch for how great their stuff is. They do some nice gift sets as well. http://www.penzeys.com/

If they're into cookbooks, consider a subscription to Quick Cooking or Taste of Home magazines. Both are excellent! Bobby Flay also has some wonderful cookbooks. If they don't already own them, you cannot go wrong with The Joy of Cooking and Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook (which I refer to as "old faithful" :))
