Six Pack Abs
Anybody have any good exercises to get my six pack back?

Every variation of crunches known to man! That's what I started doing, and it's working! :)

The fact of the matter is that, ab crunches alone aren't going to work. You need to add an hour of cardio, six times a week, in addition to a 3xs a week strentgh training routine to burn off the layers of fat that sit on top of the muscle and to maintain the loss. It's hard work. Basic equation: more calories expended - less calories taken in= fat loss.

Run a lot (not for your abs, just to be in shape)... Also, do crunches every which way (normal, side, etc...) and do reverse crunches where your torso stays on the ground and you lift your legs and pelvis...

If you're looking to get cut ( stomach and various other parts ), do this:
First change your diet, cut out the carbs. No bread, cookies, sodas, pasta, sweets and the like ( you get the picture ). Eat mainly Protein and Veggies. Next you need to excercise. Everbody has a different type of body. Some people can do it by simply jogging. Others have to do crunches, sit ups and leg raises. If your stomach is distgusting, you'll probably have to do both. Do every type of crunch. Do sit ups along with leg raises ( lay on the floor and lift your legs a few inches off the ground, hold it for different intervals....start out with 30 seconds, then 45, then 1 minute and so on and so on...... If you do some cardio, pace yourself. Start out slow and work your way up to a pace thats comfortable for you. Don't try to be a champ and run really fast and burn yourself out......the key is, to do whats right for your body. If you follow what I said, you'll only have to do this for about 30 days before you'll be where you want to be. The problem is this, when you get to a cetain point.....you have to stop yourself. Getting in shape gets addictive.......Once you're there, stop and just keep it up....don't turn into superwoman.....that gets ugly.... If you're a guy.....don't stop...keep going....The harder your body looks, the more chicks will flock.... |
You need to work out every part of your body, not just your abs. You cannot lose or gain weight on any spot on your body that you choose to. Your body will put on and take off the fat how it chooses to.....that's where genetics comes in. Even if you worked out everyday on your arms and ate healthy, you would still lose weight in other parts of your body besides your arms.
Eat healthy....lots of fruits and veggies. Do cardio and other strength training exercises. If you want strong ab muscles, my suggestion is to by the Abs of Steel videos. I love it because I can work out in my own home and not have to go to the gym. I don't have to be embarrassed if I'm all sweaty and look nasty. Plus, those videos give a really good work out. Have a friend work out with you so you can sit ups while throwing a ball towards each other. This exercise has worked really well for me. |

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm not looking to lose anymore weight. Over the last couple of months I've dropped about 10 pounds because I changed my diet for health reasons. My stomach is pretty flat already and I would just like to tone up a little bit. |
