Cults and Hidden Agendas

What religions, organizations, or institutions that you qualify as a cult or has a different agendas than what is stated?

Cults? I won't go there, yet.

I'll say that the educational system has several different agendas than stated, some are good and some are bad. I'll go into detail later.

People at UT consider us Aggies a cult :D

maybe that's just cuz from the oustide looking in they can't understand, but from the inside looking out we can't explain.

It's either that, or the fact that us Aggies are just strange people.

Be lucky you and your children don't live under the San Diego Unified School District. So many radical changes have been made by superintendent Alan Bersin that has screwed over so many opportunities for so many children. His "Blue print for success" has lowered student AND teacher moral, and has just been used to raise test scores in an effort to further Bersin's political career. He's turned the students into mindless drones who'll know information but won't be able to think for themselves. His methods of teaching reading and math while discarding performing arts, sciences and other areas of education have made a mockery of the school system. Sure, the object was to raise the test scores of those at the bottom, but at the same time, these measures have lowered the performance of others who are already doing really well in school, creating a very unnecessary equilibrium. Ask any teacher in the district.
