Want an opinion!
Hey guys,
I want an opinion from all of you. I know it is to late this year to organize it, but I was thinking maybe for next year. I was thinking of collecting teddy bears from people on campus and donating them to children's hospitals+ safe houses etc., with sisters personally taking them. I think children would like this and it would be a good sucess (I am an AXiD our philanthropy is Choose Children). I don't know if my chapter would even be interested in it, but it is something I have always wanted to organize and do, maybe even getting the community involved in it! What do you think? |
Well the teddy bear is your mascot, right? It works with your charity... So it sounds like it's great on multiple levels.

I am the Co-Chair of a Police/Fire Officer of the Year dinner tonight. As I type this, I have 96 Bears in my car. Teddy's are a fantastic philanthropy. In this case they are given to traumatized children whether they are taken out of the house for child abuse (the national program of service for the Exchange Club who is sponsoring tonight's dinner and also one of the national philanhropy projects of KD), lose their house in a fire or are in a car accident.
An on going project that keeps the cost from over burdening your members is to recycle aluminum cans and bottles. I would do this to raise the money for the bears. Last year, I made a quilt that I raffled off at the Exchange Club's local convention and raised almost $600 for the bears. A wholesaler, "Its Greek to Me" has great prices and they even personalized the shirts with your House name if you want. DaffyKD |
