New DST Website

Hi, Sorors
I must express my joy for the new website. This site is more professional and elegant. I wish I had the skills to provide my chapter with such a nice site.

kudos

THE SITE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! A NICE PROGRESSION FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE.

I beg to differ...

As a somewhat professional designer myself, this page strikes me as having been done by an amateur, or having been put together under tight time constraints. The layout and scheme are very humdrum- nothing cutting edge at all- and I would rate this as only a lateral progression from the previous site. I've seen both collegiate and alumnae chapters with much better sites.

Without changing topics or intending to reignite anything controversial, let me just say that I believe the site's makeover comes as a hurried byproduct of the issues which prompted the 09.01.02 General Information Alert.

I sent an e-mail stating the improvements that need to be done to the site and received a reply about the webmaster - a volunteer. That explains your opinion - "having been done by an amateur."

Although my initial opinion about the site were somewhat negative because of some improvements that needed to be made and I wouldn't design it that way, I grew to like it. I would suggest using CSS and changing the font style. The previous site was okay, but needed more color.

Different designers will have different opinions. It's also funny how some chapter sites go the "extra mile" ($) for their web site compared to the National site.
