I go to Texas A&M, and I'm very surprised that this happened. The Lambda Chi's here are generally known as the "nice guys", and I really never would have expected something like this from one of them. I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been one of the other fraternities here, but it is very surprising from a Lambda Chi. I guess it just goes to show that there are some not so great guys in every chapter. However, I am not surprised that the president would turn him in. That IS the kind of thing that I would expect from those guys. (I meant that in a good way) :)

The president of his chapter should not have turned him into the police. Sanction him, yes...... destroy the tape, yes.... report a brother to the police for this? no.

I know that my opinion on this will be in the minority. The actions of the LXA were not correct but you handle those actions internally.

This is exactly what I meant. The guy made a tape in bad taste (without warning), if he kept it to himself no one would have known and no harm would have been done.

But he had the extremely bad judgement of showing it to his fraternity brothers . . to brag. What a fricking moron. I won't even advertise what I do with my GFs in a committed relationship let alone talk about a casual encounter.

Now the President was foolish. It would be logical to figure out where this would have to lead, legal problems . . . although the idiot probably didn't think about it. He hould be impeached for being another moron.

But what is an embarrassment for the lady that would have faded really quickly will make him a life long felon.

A Felon. That will change his entire life. Depending on the state law he might even come under some Megan law and be a registered sex offender.

Being a felon means he can never vote, a lot of jobs are denied from him forever, he is obligated to place it on all job applications and it can be used against him for any job that he wants.

I realize that you ladies are offended but that might not be proportional to the crime.

Oh, and an enormous amount of people will see the tape now . . .

Just to clarify: The president of the LXA chapter didn't turn the brother in to the police. All he did was inform the president of the sorority that one of her sisters was unwittingly videotaped. The sister who was videotaped is the person who filed a complaint with the police. Apparently, the girl was more concerned with Bice's actions than her own personal embarrassment. I think it takes a strong person to come forward in a case like this, and I respect her for it.

Bice has no one to blame for his actions but himself. I agree that being labeled as a felon for the rest of his life is pretty harsh, but the law is black and white. It's not the girl's fault, the sorority president's fault, OR the fraternity president's fault. Bice knew that what he was doing was wrong -- he just didn't realize how wrong. Hindsight is 20/20.

I personally am very impressed by the LXA president's action. He showed his chapter and the rest of the Greeks on campus that he won't tolerate such behavior from his brothers. If more Greeks would stand up and do that on a regular basis, then we might not have such a bad public image.

Dzrose, if he (the president) understood the ramifications of his action and wanted to make a statement that would be more admirable.

I think in this case that he lacked the foresight to see where this would lead. That is where he was a moron.

I doubt if the girl herself understood how far this would go . . . I almost hope he does time in prison just to teach everyone involved, himself, the President, and the girl, the Law of Unintended Consequences.

Well she was pissed, and she got an unbelievable revenge that will alter the rest of his life in the harshest possible way.

It should be a tribute to women that have felt themselves wronged by men all over the planet LOL. :D

There is so much inherent stupidity in that story from all parties that defies description.

I think the only thing that the president did wrong was not beating the living shit out that jack-ass before turning alerting the sorority.... Damn lucky he's not from my chapter.

You know, this is really sad for everyone involved. I think that the jerk who videotaped the "encounter" should most definetly have to answer for his actions.

All I know is if I had been that girl, he'd be dead b/c my father and brother would see to it.

Shame, though....kudos to the LXA president; he did the right thing.

I think it is the officers' responsibility not to let the actions of one member jeapordize the entire chapter... especially the president.

I think he handled it correctly by making it apparent to everyone that LXA would not tolerate this behavior. Sometimes things need to be handled externally as well as internally. You can slap a guy on the wrist but sometimes the situation calls for more.
