guys - i need your help
 

so here's my situation. my best guy friend's b-day is coming up. we've recently changed our relationship to dating. i've never been good at figuring out what to get people for their b-day, so i was wondering if you all had any suggestions.

I always like practical gifts that I would use. Find something that he uses a lot and then get him something newer or better than that -- a strategy for gift giving that has served me well

i would love to cook for him, but i wont have to chance to this time. he's from home and i wont have anymore than a half hour between when i get into town and when we are going out. maybe next time.
