Does anyone know where I can get a free credit report? I don't want to have to enter my credit card to get it.

If you find one let me know. They all want you to join something first to get it.

If you want a free credit report go to the bank and apply for a loan that you know you won't get:D

Then you'll be able to get a free credit report.

Otherwise you can get one online and they'll sell all of your info.

Also I did some checking. You're entitled to BUY a credit report from each credit bureau once per year. The cost to you is only $5. Probably worth the hassle of not recieving a million solicitations a day:D

If you call one of the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax and something else... Trans something...) and say you suspect credit fraud, by law they have to give you one for free (one per year).

I had someone assume my credit identity and it was a hairy mess! Someone even came to my office and tried to prepossess my (her) car! Luckily I was able to prove pretty quickly that who I was and that I wasn't driving the car in question. But how embarrassing! I’d just started a new job – my new co-workers didn’t know what to think! I was told I should check it once a year for the rest of my life -- and I will! I had no idea it was even going on until I tried to rent an apartment and some wacky stuff came up on my report.

also, some of the companies are required to give you a free report depending on which state you live in..i know that because i live in NJ i got a free copy of my report from transunion.

Ugh. I don't think I have any credit at this point, definitely nothing bad.

You can also enroll through your credit cards for a trial credit report. Just remember to unenroll once you've gained the first report...otherwise you'll have to pay for it.
