Need help with AOL IM

Okay I am not stupid but sometimes when it comes to computer details I am not a rocket scientist...

Under "edit options", then "edit preferences", then "mail" there is an option for "e-mail addresses to check". How the hell do I set this up?

Type: POP3 Mail is the only option
E-mail Address: I think I can figure this one out ;)
Password: I think I can figure this one out also ;)
POP3 Server Name: what the hell does this mean?
POP3 E-mail Program: what the hell does this mean?

Thanks :)

Sorry I couldn't be of any help. :D

Is this for AOL or for an excite mailbox?
I have all my excite mail forwarded to my AOL box and it was pretty simple, but as far as AOL being forwarded to something else I don't know.....

The POP3 server basically holds incoming messages for you until you download them onto your computer. If you're using Yahoo! or Hotmail or AOL, then you won't have a POP3 server to specify. If you have a dialup, or a school account, or DSL (basically, if your ISP gave you an email address and it's on a POP3 server), then you specify the name of the POP3 server in this box. Usually it's in the following form:

pop.yourisp.com
mail.yourisp.com
etc.

If you don't know these settings, chances are that your ISP's homepage will have them listed under their support section.

This is the program that you would use to check your POP3 email account. These programs include Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora, and many others.

Buena suerte. :)

I also dont have a clue what you arre talking about!

If I get something from someone, I can forward it to the persons that I have e-m address for no matter what the server is as long as I have the mail address. Or, I can type in the e-m address if not in my book.

With the 200 e-m I have for my chapter, many different, I can forward to all of them by bringing up my address book and inserting them in send to or copy to and push forward icon.

Is that what you are talking about?
