Problem

a pinned new member has NOT kept an oath & we want to kick her out. we have to initiate her??!! what makes us think she won't tell everyone the secrets that we keep VERY sacred!! Has anyone been in this situation before??

If the oath she broke has something to do with ritual stuff, etc let your advisor and DCP know. That needs to be taken care of right away

You def. don't have to initiate her, and it should be discussed with an advisor and the E-board (who will probably have you take it to J board and put this girl on a step)

CAREPHISIG,

I have PMed you too, but what did she do that violated her oath. As a new member a hundred thing s are happening and may seem overwhelming at the time. Sometimes New Members just don't know right from wrong. I find it hard to hold something against her. Maybe if you explain whats going on we can help you. The best and most respectable way would be to approach her about "what" happened. Tell her that it is unaccpetable. Like I said, I don't know the situation... there is ALWAYS a gray area in things. Please explain.....

I agree with Glitter. This sounds like a matter for j-board and/or your advisor.

as a side note (since I don't know how serious her oath-breaking situation is, this may not apply) every chapter should have an immediate diasaffiliation/disassociation policy in their local constitution...this was told to me by National a couple yrs ago. I'm just bringing this up because the 3-step process takes time and if this NM really is not Phi Sig material it would be a shame to initiate her only to have her disaffiliate later....
