Lil Sis Question
 

Just wondering..but why were Lil Sis programs banned from TKE? I've heard different stories but none have really seemed truthful, lol :)

Because they began to organize, hold their own meeting and elect officers. One even tried to sue to become a TKE. So thats why TKE banned them.

*jaw drop* You've -got- to be kidding me. Some female -actually- thought she could/should become a Teke?? :rolleyes:

Thanks for clearing that up though, I actually heard that the reason was because a chapter pimped out their lil sis's for a fundraiser of sorts....lol

Yep true story, I have heard it many times a few times from national officers.

If a chapter pimped out its girls I don't think many girls would wand to become a little sis. lol

we actually have the legal right to say that we are a men only organization, some chapters the little sisters were officers (even prytanis) so women were getting too many rights within TKE, which, above all else stands for men. so we could have possibly lost that right, and that would be really bad...

some say there's also political reasons, like if the little sisters broke off and stayed togeather they would have been instantly the biggest sorority, and women don't like the threat...


btw, if you hear anyone talk about starting a lil sis program, or an auxillary group, don't let em... i've seen it done (or attempted), and it caused alot more problems than it did good...
