AXO protest a strip club near Ripon College
|
Sometimes I don't understand what people have against these... If they don't like it they don't have to go in... As far as their children... I don't think the strip club is going to let the kiddies in. I fail to see how this is something worth protesting.

Hey, one of my friends from high school is an Alpha Chi at Ripon. I'll have to ask her what's up. I'm really near Ripon, and I've heard commercials for the Mansion on Main on the radio for some weeks now. I don't think it's much to get upset about. Hell, I'll go.

I went to a strip club for the first time two weeks ago. It was an experience! Thank God the girls wore pasties. I don't know if I could have handled real nudity. I guess as long as the establishment was discreet, than it's ok that they're there. If it was a family area, I'd be kinda mad if there was a strip club where I took my kids too.
But hey, I'm sure they make bank off the college boys (he he). -M |

Most of those same arguments could be used in regards to keeping Greek Life off of a campus.
The fact is, this stuff is just entertainment. There are clean operations. Many of us in the Bible Belt just fail to recognize that. It's good that these ladies stand up for their morals... But I'm sure they could be doing much more helpful things for the community two nights a week. Maybe helping at a homeless shelter, helping kids or adults learn to read, etc. |
YES, YES, No,No,
Well the point is these people are trying to make some money. Do They Yes they do! Went to a strip club with a Lawyer Pal, Damn, I got Board Quick! I love lovely ladies as a man and vice versia for women I am sure! If you have it go for it unless you are from BAYLOR! Stupid Is As Stupid Does! |
I don't have any problem with the strip club, either. But, what exactly are they protesting? I can understand not wanting it in a family area. But, there are some real Nervous Nellies out there if they're just protesting the strip club.

I agree with Eclipse
I applaud the AXO's for having the guts to openly protest this and it gives me a whole new respect for an organization I hadn't had the opportunity to develop an opinion of before now.

I certainly have no problem with a strip club opening in my town. Heck it would give my town a little more excitement! As long as you had to be over 21 to get in! We have like 4 in the town my school is in. Not that I go to them but it keeps my guy friends entertained!

I think it's cool that the A Chi O's believe something so strongly that they're willing to spend that much time protesting it, but I agree that it seems like there are a lot of other things they could do that would make much more of an impact on society -- in the end, their protests are probably going to be a waste of time. If there's enough demand for the club, it'll stay. |
What is wrong with titties in my face? Nothing I can see. I think they need to lossen up. You don't see fat guys protesting chippendales.

The thought of a strip club in a small town is likely to stir up controversy. If you have never lived in a small town, then you really cannot understand because things (way of life) are different. It isn't like a big town where there are a lot of things to do. If a strip club were to come to my town I know it'd be a problem. I do not mean to stereotype, but things associated with strip clubs are often not pleasant. And in small communities or towns, it is very easy for people to get sucked into things that aren't necessarily good. I know one could argue that bars should then be closed down because those sorts of things influence alcoholism.
Still, a strip club brings people from neighboring towns who do not have a club. This could lead to problems if they were to get rowdy. I know a lot of guys who have traveled to smaller towns to go to the strip clubs and they generally don't go there or return sober. So hense, another problem. And for those who live in a small town, these problems lead to more problems...possible thefts, rapes, drunkeness, etc. So don't necessarily say it's a worthless thing to protest. In a small town it is a big deal worth considering and protesting. |
