A Legal Question

I'm coming into a small inheritance and I would like to donate some money to my alma mater. BUT, I only want that money to be used towards researching the possibility of a Greek Row or Panhellnic dorm. Does anyone here know how I can do that, ensure that it doesn't go towards ANYTHING else but the Greeks? THANKS!

The best thing to do would be to contact an attorney that deals with bequests/wills/trusts, etc. You can also contact your university alumni foundation - they will probably have all the information you need to know BUT you should have your attorney work out the details to protect your interests and to handle any subsequent inheritance tax issues.

sigmagrrl, that is a great thought! I have an Alum who is a lawyer, and I am giving all of my all to my house. If by chance the chapter is not there to go to the International in a trust for when the chapter is placed back on campus!
i know many of us do what we can to make sure there is some one else who will benefit from what we had.
We are in the process of soliciating funds for a new house on campus and if someone cannot give what we are looking for, then the money that they can afford will go towards a scholarship fund for the active members!
I always felt it would be good to give back to something that is a very important thing in my life.
