Big Sis
 

Do you guys have any creatve way to reveal big sisters?

Last year we had the girls follow this pink and green yarn scattered all around the house and theeir big was at the end of it...but we were looking for some fun new ideas.

something fun we did this past year that i set up was to have exec (or whomever) make the alphas (new members) sundaes just how they want them - they 'take their order' and make the sundaes in those little clear plastic sundae dishes, and on the bottom (on the outside) you write the name of their big sister (backwards, so when you look down in you can read it) and then put the sundae on top -- as long as the girls have some idea that 'after we have our sundaes we'll be having diamond (big) sister revealing, they will catch on quickly and usually jump up and run to their big -- who has some type of (uniform) present. :D everyone seemed to like it, it was really successful last year. also an idea i heard at districts that we might use sometime is if bigs are being revealed at retreat have the big leave them pajamas (tasteful fun ones) as a present before retreat, then when everyone changes before bed the bigs have matching pajamas, and you can do a candle pass after the excitement dies down before heading off to bed. good luck with big sis revealing in your chapter!

Two cute ideas I know of....

1). you buy two items that "go together" (my Chi Omega friend did this, so I'll try and explain the best way I can). for example, you could make a mask for you and one for your little sister. You leave one of them in the specified location and then your little picks her "gift" up. Then they run around and find whomever matches them! Too cute!

2) Another one...Take the cars of the big sisters and decorate them...then take the keys and decorate them with the little sisters names. Then put the keys in a big basket and let the little sister find "hers". They then run out to where the cars are parked and find the car that goes to her key! Whomever that particular car belongs to is her big sis!

I think this is one of the greatest things about being in a sorority!

last semester our vice president for pledge education made up an elaborate 'murder mystery' and at the end their Big was revealed to each new member. It sounds like a pretty cool idea. I wasn't here last semester when they did it, but if you would like, I could ask him for details on how he made it up :)

I love everyone's ideas thus far, but if you are looking for something fun but may be a little more serious is to have the big sis pick out a poem. Then you give the little sis the first half of the poem. She reads it out loud, then the big sis finishes is. It become really sweet and cute to do it this way.
