Our rituals on Ebay!!!

Hey Sorors-

I saw this post in the ZPHIB forum, and I had heard about this before. Apparently when a Soror died, her familiy (hopefully by mistake) allowed her copy of Delta's rituals to be posted for sale on Ebay. I am not sure but I think there is supposed to be litigation to get the rituals returned to a member. Has anyone heard about this?? What do you think should happen??

I really don't see why anyone would want our rits- because you can read the book all you want, the most sacred info is NOT in there! But I guess when you are apart of THE GREATEST SORORITY, you just wanna fake it sometimes!!! :D

This, unfortunately, has been happening for a while. I would hope Sorors have made provisions for their paraphernalia in the even of their death. I remember reading in a chapter mailing that we are not to bid on such items, rather report the seller to National & they will handle it.

You would be surprised as to what people would want. There are a lot of people out there who collect greek badges, pins, nalia, etc. And many of them may not be greek. For a collector I would think something like a fraternity's or sorority's rituals would be a great find to add to the collection...it doesn't matter if it means anything to them or not. I don't know about collectors of NPHC things and how prevelant they are. This reminds me of the Kappa Key thing. Collectors can get Kappa Kappa Gamma pins on ebay and the Kappas are attempting to rescue their keys and are trying to outbid the collectors. Of course ritual books arre different from pins but I would think that anything a collecter could get their hands on would be appreciated.

I actually saw the Delta rit, intake manual, and a few other items on sale on eBay a while back. I was amazed at how many bids there were. I think the seller originally was posting the items for about $15, and the bids were as high as $200.

But 12dn94dst is exactly right. I contacted the Delta National HQ, as well as the regional hq and reported the item being for sale on eBay. They thanked me, and the next day the item was pulled from auction.

I wish someone would read a rit and try to talk to me about it without really being a Bruh. Lawd have mercy on their soul....
