The GRE
This question is posed to graduate students and those who've obtained master degrees in their choosen academic field. How important do you think your GRE score was in gaining admittance to your graduate programs?
I just recently took the GRE and I'm not too pleased with my score. I really don't want to take it over, but I'm worried that I just might have to come out of another $105 to retake this test. What do you guys think? |
GRE
Hello,
I am new to the board. I am not a member of any organization. Just somewhat interested. I am also applying to graduate school, and I currently work at one. Including my employer, I have talked to a few graduate admissions people. My best advice is to analyze your situation. You must take into consideration your grades, and the school to which you are applying. I have had some tell me that it is really your personal statement, which would describe you best, that counts. They want people who have a desire for the field and not those who are doing it because they don't know what they want or they have nothing better to do. If your grades aren't the best then you may want to focus your energy on that. If you can you may want to ask some professors that are on admissions boards what they look for. Ambition |
