50 threads for 50? (Happy 50th Birthday, John!)
 

Before anyone else got to doing this first this year... For the first time ever, I figured I might start this thread myself and maybe turn it into something fun for GreekChat.

Happy Birthday to me! :)

Today, September 26, 2025, I am officially half a century old!

I don't normally toot my own horn like this, but I promise it's for a good cause.

It's almost hard to believe that I was only 22 when I first registered the domain name greekchat.com . Where has all the time gone?

To celebrate my 50th birthday on GreekChat, I was thinking what could be better than seeing a bunch of new discussions and activity happening on the site.

If you would like to give me a gift for my 50th Birthday: post a new discussion thread, or a few!

Anything you are interested in discussing, bring those discussions here to GreekChat. The general chit chat forums would probably be a great place to do that.

So, what do you think about 50 threads for turning 50?

We can make a fun weekend out of it. :)

And, honestly, it would make me quite happy to see a bunch of new active discussions happening on GreekChat.

cheerfulgreek, you're probably right that 50 new threads may be a bit of a stretch, but 50 rhymes with 50 so I went with that. :) Maybe Cheerio has the right idea with 22 threads... we'll see what happens. Either way, it's always nice to see new discussions and new activity here on GC.

I know. Let’s just look at it in that everything has its seasons, John. GC will swing back around. Ups and downs are normal… kind of like my mood when the Vikings play. :p

Wow, Happy Birthday John! It's been 11 years since I last logged on to GC. I can't believe how much of my extra time was consumed by this forum 22+ years ago. Awesome to see that it's still going strong. Congrats!

Yes, GreekChat is still hanging in there. You should visit GC more often. If you did I think it would probably also help encourage some other GCers to do the same. Would be nice to see more of the old GC crew around again.
