Penn State Recruitment 2025

Usually I don't make a thread for Penn State, but they are implementing variable quota for this year, which will make it a bit more interesting. Here is the schedule:

PNM Orientation: January 17, 2025
Asynchronous Panhellenic Preview Round: January 21-22 (all 21 chapters visited)
Philanthropy Round: January 24-26th (max of 12 chapters)
Sisterhood Round: January February 1st (max of 7 chapters)
Preference Round: February 2, 2025 (max of 2 chapters)
Bid Day: February 3, 2025

I wish everyone the best of luck as the week goes on!

Via PHC’s Instagram, 2,063 PNMs are going through this year!

According to their website,

Sigma Alpha
Omega Phi Alpha
Phi Sigma Rho

Are associate chapters.

Anyone know how this works? Do you drop out of recruitment if you want to join them?

Sigma Alpha is for women in ag, OPA is service-related, and Phi Sigma Rho was founded by East Indian-American women. I can see how women who only want to belong to these "niche" sororities might not want to do an NPC rush.

Actually, they are only going to visit 18 full PHC chapters. You keep including the 3 associate chapters when they are not part of recruitment at all.

According to the PHC site all 21 are visited. I suppose the associate chapters introduce themselves during preview round then will "drop out" and do their own recruitment later on.

Where do they hold Recruitment? It's been a long time since I visited PSU & saw how tiny their sorority suites were then.

Ok that makes sense. These organizations attract a different type of PNM- one that’s specifically looking at that organization.

Just curious because I was in a service sorority and our recruitment was completely separate from NPC.

Good luck to the PNMs and chapters. It’s going to get COLD (I am about 90 minutes from Penn State)

I have a lot of great childhood memories of the area - several members of my family have/had cottages in the Whipple Dam area. Also, one of the Alpha Delta Pi International Presidents lives in Boalsburg. I keep saying that I need to get back there at least one more time!

This is what is done at Ohio State. After Meet The Chapters, Alpha Sigma Upsilon (Agriculture) and Phi Sigma Rho (Engineering) drop out.

2014 recruitment stats from Penn State: Quota 52, Total 102

How things change! Even if a good number of women drop out, the sororities will still take large classes.

And bid day is here! I’m more of the social media lurker and I did see quite a bit of Penn state content.
