Drone Drama

Okay.. so, is anyone keeping up with this on the news? At first I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, but when they started reporting that some of these drones are as big as cars, I found that to be kind of strange. And now people in other states, besides New Jersey, are reporting seeing them, too. And then, the federal government is saying they don’t know what they are, or why they’re there, but “it’s nothing to be alarmed about.” So, if they don’t “know” anything about them, then how can they tell us it’s nothing to worry about?

I watch a great guy on instagram who addresses all kinds of conspiracy theories. He's a professor in sociology/psychology from Washington State. He does a lot of true crime analysis, but I agree with his take on it- on this instagram reel: https://www.instagram.com/p/DDjWJuERj0m/

I swear, that guy had me laughing SO hard! He was so calm, lol. Maybe I should fly my drone around the area to see if CNN comes on with “mysterious drone spotted in Edina, Minnesota”, lol.

It's Santa Claus Billionaires delivering toy/coal gifts (attitude dependent as to which) to deserving children.

Is there any chance stronger regulation of drones would cause less crowding of those fun toys up there? Aren't drones supposed to be registered, and can't someone figure out who owns which one up in the sky?

It depends on the drone. I wasn’t required to register my starter drones. The drone I have now, I did register that one. I also have my license to fly it.

I think they are aliens who are coming to eat our brains.

It's Xmas time, lots of deals to be had on drones. In densly populated areas, I'm sure a lot of this hysteria is just about regular folks flying personal drones for fun.

And if you'll allow me to fasten my tinfoil hat, this could also be the FAA flying these drones in order to scare civilians to motivate Congress to expand the FAA's jurisdiction over unmanned aircraft and airspace below 400 feet.
