Ole Miss Recruitment 2024

Since I'll be going overseas for the next few weeks, I thought I'd make the thread a little be early, as recruitment will be starting very soon! Here's the schedule:

August 15th: PNM Convocation & Round 1 – Greek Day (All 11 houses have videos for the PNMs to watch)
August 16th, 17th & 18th: Round 2 – Philanthropy Day (Max of 8 houses)
August 19th: Break Day
August 20th, 21st & 22nd: Round 3 – Sisterhood Day (Max of 5 houses)
August 23rd: Round 4 – Preference Day (Max of 2 houses)
August 24th: Bid Day!

To everyone going through or those involved, I wish you the best of luck during the coming week!

Gonna bump this since it’s break day!

Kappa welcomed 200 new members today! One of them was my cousin's granddaughter. Her roommate also pledged Kappa.

Saw PiPhi got 214…those are insanely huge pledge classes! Congrats to all!

Ole Miss AOPi: 279!!

As an advisor, I would not know WHERE to begin! These are colony numbers, let alone one pledge class. WOW!

I wonder that too. Despite alpha chi just joining (and probably time to build up) I wonder if ole miss will be opening for expansion again at some point. 200+ member PCs are crazy!

Any official word available as to the yearly percentage of Ole Miss NM who eventually initiate?

And/or the number of Ole Miss NM that eventually graduate from a university?

I understand not every chapter might keep tabs, but would the university greek life office keep those numbers?

Because high NM numbers mean little if retention is poor and/or not enough members make it to their graduation day.

(EDITED because the little GreekChat Emoji Leprechaun once again added an emoji to my post...her opinion; at least this time she didn't add nor subtract words and phrases to my text)

I suppose if they have public grade reports with those numbers it can be checked in a few months. Also I’m not sure if they still do but doesn’t ole miss have variable quota?

OleMissGlitter 08-27-2024 12:21 PM

We still use variable quota. I work on campus and while I am retired as an advisor (I'm in my working mom era!)---all 11 chapters did awesome this recruitment! With so many out of state students, retention can be an issue. But it's an exciting time to be in a sorority at Ole Miss!

Holy cow! At my school, total was 80, and quota hovered around 30. Initiation must take forever with 279 new members.
