Hello girls! Let me first explain my story. *starts off bad, ends up good I promise* As a freshman I came here and had a horrible experience with my English class. I was the lonely band girl and here was the rest of the class, all the girls were in a sorority. I was completely sterotyped and left alone. In fact one girl told me, "sorry honey you're just not our kind". This meaning since I wasn't greek I couldn't work with them on an English project.
So for two years I hated Greeks. I resented them. I hated seeing girls with their lil' tote bags and letters. This was until I met Jill. My boyfriends best friend's girlfriend. She was awesome, then I found out she was greek. Wait,....she wasn't mean to me "are you sure she's greek?" I asked my boyfriend. Then I talked to Jill a lot and before you know it I was at the AOII house looking around and meeting people.
I saw the cute painted rooms, the inspirational notes that all the girls wrote to one another, and the love that spread throughout that house. I was blown away and suddenly completely heartbroken that I wasn't an AOII.
So now, here I sit and Jill finally got me convinced that it was okay for me to do COB. So right now I'm in the middle of waiting for events to go to and waiting to *hopefully* receive a bid. But just the mere thought of receiving one gets me so excited about everything. I really hope I can get to talk to some of you girls and get encouragement. B/c I want to be an AOII!!!!!! Wish me luck girls!!!

Yea, I Just had really bad luck. Now I see that I shouldn't let just a bunch of girls determine my entire attitude. And thankfully I found a place that is just wonderful! I'll keep ya updated if anything good happens!!!

I am glad you think so highly of AOII, but I also highly encourage you to go through recruitment and keep an open mind about all of the sororities on your campus. I am sure the other chapters are wonderful too if you give them a chance. I am glad to see you have overcome the biggest stereotype of them all which is that the greek system is bad.
