Former AGD at Bama - Kicked Out Before Graduation

A former AGD from Bama says that she got called to standards after she sent out a survey to other members to solicit opinions on if others are in agreement with the leadership decisions being made. She comes across as "reasonable" in her Tik Toks (she tells the story in a 4 part series), but there has to be more to this story. If the chapter adjusted the bylaws the day before her hearing, just so that she could be charged with a rule violation, then that's a questionable action on the part of the chapter.

However, I believe she said that a national AGD rep was at her standards meeting and, if so, that tells me that she has possibly been a big problem for a while and/or her "innocent survey" had some inappropriate questions in it. It doesn't make sense to me that the chapter would revoke the lifetime membership of one random chapter member 6 weeks before graduation, simply because she sent out a survey.

Discretion and tact have no place with some members of the Digital Generation. Private, handwritten diaries and journals have given way to a social media public airing of every minute of, and every issue within, one's life.

*SIGH*

You'd have to hear all the sides on this argument to make a fair judgment, and that's not going to happen.

Wow. She only had two months left.

That's what's tragic. They pulled her sisterhood out from underneath her. If they had such a big issue with her, she would be out of the chapter in a couple of months. I hope nationals can reinstate her.

If, like she said, a representative from national headquarters was present at her standards meeting, I would be willing to wager there is a whole lot of pieces left out of her story, as a previous standards chair and alum advisor to that position.

I saw her TikTok account of it- it was questions like, "Have you ever had to pretend to a PNM that you like AGD more than you really do?", and "Would you still have gone Alpha Gam knowing what you do now?", "How many standards meetings have you had for stupid reasons which would not have warranted standards in a different sorority?", "Have you ever seriously considered dropping Alpha Gam?" (72% said YES :0)

if you search for her under iambabyduck you can find it.
